This is my latest Centre for Ideas Project. I have called it F(t)=

I have been playing with the idea of Leonardo’s Divine Proportions of the human body.

My process was: I took all the extreme positions of the thumb joint and gave them each a symbol and then took all the extreme fold of a piece of paper (eg exactly in half) and gave them each a symbol. I then found the order in which these symbols occur by putting the sybols into the formula shown at the beginning. I then found F(t) by writing down the resulting series of symbols. In this video i perform the series of symbols as their corresponding positions of the hand and thumb.

In theory you could do this for the entire body and create a whole dance piece.
